SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Exam 2019
For the appointment of a junior engineer, the exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission.
This test is conducted once in a year. Through this exam, recruitment is made for various streams such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying.

The following eligibility criteria are must for the candidates in order to appear foe the SSC JE exam
The candidates who are applying should be
- The citizen of India or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan.
- Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention to permanently settling in India.
Age limit for the junior engineer in different government departments are different.
So candidates will have to verify with the official notification that is published online.
Generally, the age criteria are set between 27 to 32 years. Upper age relaxation is provided to aspirant according to government rules.
The candidate requires having a degree or a diploma from a recognized university or an institute.
For some of the posts, one or two years of experience in that particular field is required. Detail can be acquired from the official website for the post they are applying.
SSC JE 2019 Exam Pattern
Like other competitive exams, this test will have two papers:
- Paper –I, and
- Paper II
Paper –I (Computer Based)
Paper –I is a computer-based exam in which multiple choice question carrying one marks to each will be asked.
In this paper, all the candidates will have to answer General Intelligence and General awareness question but from the engineering segment they are needed to answer only that particular segment for which they have opted.

Paper –II is Descriptive Type. Here they will have to give an answer to the regular engineering questions from the stream they have completed their education.

The process is the same as all other SSC vacancies, candidates can apply online. The link for the website is https//ssc.nic.in. Online registration should be done before the last date of applying i.e. 28th August 2019 (5 PM).
Application fee for a male candidate is ₹100 (one hundred). This fee is exempted for the candidate who belongs to Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe, a Person with Disabilities, Ex-Serviceman and Women candidates.
Mode of payment
Payments can be made through internet banking, credit/debit card and rupay card. If a candidate doesn’t have the asses to pay the fee online then they can opt to pay through SBI e-challan.
SSC JE Job Prospects
Post of a Junior Engineer is the lowest in the hierarchy of the engineering job, but with this job, you get an exposer, you get to know about how the things are done.
Here you get a regular promotion on the basis of your experience and performance. It is quite possible that you join the office as a Junior Engineer but end up as an executive engineer or superintendent engineer.
