SSC CHSL Exam 2019: Dates | Pattern | Syllabus | Eligibility
Staff Selection Commission has announced it dates for upcoming exam for Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL 10+2).
This exam is conducted by SSC every year for those candidates who have completed their higher secondary education.

SSC CHSL Exam Dates 2019

The following eligibility must be fulfilled by the candidates in order to appear in the exam:
- Only a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962.
- People of Indian Origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India.
Age limit for all post is 18-27 years as on 10.08.2019. Candidate should not be born before 02.08.1992 & not later than 01.08.2001. Upper age relaxation will be provided to different category accordingly.
3. Educational Qualifications
- For the post of LDC/JSA, PA/SA, DEO (Except DEOs in C&AG): The candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination form a recognized board or equivalent. Candidates who are appearing in the Board exam can also apply, but they will have to provide the required document that says they have passed their exam before 01.08.2019.
- For the post of Data Entry Operator (DEO): In the office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) 12th standard pass in Science stream with Mathematic as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent is necessary.
SSC CHSL Exam Pattern
Two tier exams followed by skill test will be conducted by the commission.
Tier-I Exam Pattern
This exam will be an objective type and the test will be conducted online. Duration of the exam will be of one hour.
The paper will have question from four categories i.e. English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness.
**Penalty for wrong answer: There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Tier-II Exam Pattern
paper is going to be descriptive type for 100 marks in ‘Pen and Paper’ Mode. The duration for descriptive paper would be for one hour (20 minutes compensatory time will be provided for the candidate who opts for a scribe.
For this paper candidate will have to write an essay of 200-250 words and a letter/application of approximately 150-200 words either in Hindi or English.

Tier – III Exam Pattern
A. Skill test for Lower Divisional Clerk /Junior Secretariat Assistant and Postal Assistant /Sorting Assistant
For the post of LDC/JSA and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant the medium of skill test will be Hind and English. The candidates will have to opt for the medium of Typing Test (i.e. either Hindi or English) in the online application form.
The choice of Typing Test given by the candidate in the online Application Form will be considered as final and no change request will be entertained afterward.
For English typing speed should be 35 words per minute and for Hindi it will be 30 words per minute. The duration of the test will be 10 minutes.
B. Skill Test for Data Entry Operator
Typing test for candidate those who qualified in above mentioned test will be conducted by SSC on the computers that is provided by commission or the agency that is authorized by the commission.
Test will be of qualifying nature. This test is mandatory for Data Entry Operator. No candidate is exempted from appearing in this skill test. The duration of the test will be of 15 minutes.
Within 15 minutes the candidate will have to type the given passage correctly in English.
Speed should be of 8,000 keys depression per hour where as for the post of data entry operator in the office of Comptroller & Auditor General of India speed should be of 15,000 keys depression per hour.
**NOTE: Appearing candidate should get at least 33% marks in Tier-I & Tier-II then only they will be called for skill test.

SSC CHSL Tier – II Exam Syllabus
Tier II exam will only have two part. You will have to write an essay on the topic provided in 200-250 words and a letter or application in not more than 150 – 200 words.
