The NIACL AO exam is the ‘New India Assurance Company Limited Administrative Officer (Generalist)’ exam. The NIACL AO 2019-20 is a chance for the candidates to get a job in the insurance industry of the country.

NIACL conducts this exam to recruit Administrative Officers in its various branches across the nation. It is also, one of the 5 wholly Government of India owned Assurance Company.

Once a person qualifies this exam, they get hired as an Administrative Officer in a prestigious Company.

NIACL AO 2019-20 Exam Dates

Last year notification for this exam was published in the month of December, so it is expected to be around that time only. Once the notification is released link for online application is activated within five days.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are applying for the exam of NIACL AO must fulfil the eligibility criteria that are given. The candidates who fail to fulfil the eligibility criteria, their application will be rejected by the authorities.

All the candidates are supposed to follow the instructions given:

Nationality

A candidate applying for the exam must be either

  1. citizen of India,
  2. subject to Nepal, or
  3. subject of Bhutan, or
  4. Tibetan outcast who approached India before January 1962 with the aim of all time settling in India, or
  5. an individual of Indian origin who has moved from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Tibetan, Ethiopia, Zaire with the goal of all time settling in India.

Given a competitor having a place with the classes (b), (c), (d) and (e) will be an individual in whose support, a testament of qualification has been issued by the Government.

Age Limit

Under the NIACL AO, the age limit for the candidates should be minimum 21 years of age and maximum of 30 years of age.

Education Qualification

The candidates who are applying for the NIACL AO exam has to follow the educational criteria also.

  • Generalists:An aspirant must be graduate/post graduate from any government authorized college or any proportionate by the Central Government with 60% total in both degree examinations for general competitors and  55% marks for SC/ST/PWD applicants.
  • Specialists: The candidate who aspires to appear for the specialist cadre exam in NIACL needs to fulfill the following eligibility of Educational qualifications

**NOTE:

  • The candidates should possess a certificate as a proof of passing the qualifying exam.
  • The MBA/PGDM finance candidates should show the certificate from the university which confirms the expertise in finance at or during the time of the interview.
  • If they fail to show the certificate, they will not be allowed to appear in any case for the interview.

Preliminary Exam Pattern

Candidates have to qualify in each test/section by securing passing marks to be decided by the NIACL.

Descriptive Test

NIACL AO conducts the Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration comprising of 30 marks.

**NOTE: The Descriptive Test will be qualifying in Nature, i.e. the marks scored will not be taken into account for shortlisting for interview or final selection.

Personal Interview

Aspirants who get shortlisted in Mains will be called for an Interview that will be conducted by NIACL.

The interview will be conducted only at the selected centres. The ratio of online Examination and Interview will be 80:20 respectively.

Centre name, the address of the center, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted aspirants in the call letter.

Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from NIACL official website and that no call letter will be sent to them by post.

Job Prospects for NIACL AO

  • A candidate appointed in the Officers’ cadre on regular pay rolls of the Company and shall be on probation for a period of one year from the date of joining the duty.
  • Before joining as probationer, the selected candidates are required to give an undertaking to serve the Company for a minimum period of four years including probation period.
  • During the probation period the Officers would be required to pass the non-life Licentiate Examination conducted by Insurance Institute of India and only after passing the said examination the Officer is eligible for confirmation of his/her services in the Company.
  • Your promotion opportunities will depend on many parameters such your performance in the internal exams, certificate courses, seniority etc.
  • Administrative officers (AO) after 3 years of their services, are eligible for promotions to scale II officer. But for this they need to clear the internal exams that are conducted regularly.
  • But otherwise, regular promotions in the organization requires at least 5 years of service and it is based on seniority.
  • Officers are eligible for further promotions after every three years and added benefits go on increasing with the higher posts.
  • Apart from this, officers also enjoy benefits such as leave en-cashment, LTS, yearly increments, staff Medi-claim, index linked rise in dearness allowance
  • General Insurance company employees also enjoy wage increments that happens in wage settlement that happens every five years.
  • AOs are not eligible for sabbatical leave for higher studies, unpaid leaves are not allowed, they need to resign if want to for higher studies.

Salary of NIACL AO

Once you get selected as NIACL employee in AO designation, you will be eligible to get ₹32,795/- as basic pay. Total NIACL AO salary will be approximately ₹51,000/- p.m. in metropolitan cities.

Application for NIACL AO exam can be filled through online link provided by Staff Selection Commission i.e. https://newindia.co.in/

Students can apply online after the official notification is published and the link is activated. The candidates are requested to apply before last date of the submission.

Application fees for NIACL AO

For SC/ST candidates the fees should be paid is Rs.100/-. For others, the fees are Rs.600/
