Competitive Exams After Graduation For Jobs

After graduation, a student has two types of openings: prepare themselves for campus job interviews or dive into the competitive exams for jobs.

In this article, I will be sharing some information about the second one i.e. competitive exams after graduation for jobs.

Every year lakhs of students start preparing for jobs and entrance examinations after graduation to ensure employment in the public sector.

Be it banking or teaching or the civil services, each of these examinations demand a certain rigour and preparation from its candidates.

While lakhs of students apply for these top Indian government exams after graduation in India, only a few thousand succeed in finding employment. Presenting a list of competitive exams after graduation for jobs that you must look forward to in 2021.

A) UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021

The Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Service Examination to provide jobs as Civil servants. Civil servants are bureaucrats who significantly influence the decision making of the government. The power and status associated with this field are immense. B) RBI Grade B Examination 2021

The Reserve Bank of India is one of India’s most prestigious government institutes and always the top choice of any banking aspirant. RBI Grade B Exam can be treated as the first among the equals among all the banking exams. This is one of the top Indian government exams after graduation to get a dream job. RBI Grade B is the entry-level officer position post for the management cadre.

Educational Qualification: Generally, an applicant should have secured at least 60% (50% for certain categories) marks as well in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th standard examinations.

C) SBI PO Examination 2021

F) SSC CGL Examination 2021

G) RRB NTPC Examination 2021

The Indian Railways is the largest department of the Central Government in India. For people who are looking for government jobs after graduation in railways, then RRB Non-Technical Recruitment 2021 can be a good choice.

I) IBPS and SBI Clerk Examination 2021

With the government saying no to interviews for clerk posts from 2017, clerical jobs are in high demand. The person inside the withdrawal and deposit counters are mostly of the clerical grade. Before appointment in the post, successful candidates for the IBPS and SBI Clerk exam will have to undergo basic training for six months.

Educational Qualification: For the posts of Junior Associates the candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university and for Junior Agricultural Associates the candidate should be a graduate in Agriculture or Agriculture allied activities from a Government recognized university/Institute.

Opportunities: Like other posts, the post of Clerk also has an opportunity for career growth. In a few years, clerks may become officers by clearing internal exams.

J) Central Teachers’ Eligibility Test (CTET)

In India, both Central and State Governments conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test to shortlist candidates and employ them as teachers. The CTET is conducted by CBSE to recruit teachers for Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas. K) Judicial Service Exam

The High courts conduct Judicial Service Exams to recruit candidates as Civil Judge, Judicial Magistrate, District and Session Judge, etc. The exam is conducted to recruit Judicial Officers both for the subordinate as well as the higher judiciary. Educational Qualification: A candidate for a subordinate judiciary must be a law graduate. In some states, candidates should have 3 years of experience of practising as an Advocate. For the higher judiciary, candidates should have 7 years of experience of practice as an Advocate.

Opportunities: Besides having the facilities like other government officials, judicial officers hold a special position in Judiciary.  They get the independent decision-making opportunity and thus they can do enormous welfare for all the sections of the society.


L) Air Force Common Admission Test

The Air Force Common Admission Test is conducted by the Indian Air Force to recruit eligible candidates as Class-I Gazetted Officers in both Flying branch and Ground (Technical and Non-Technical) duties. AFCAT is the opportunity given to aspiring candidates to serve the nation and join the Indian Air Force in both Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission or Short Service Commission in Ground Duties for both Technical and Non-Technical roles.

Educational Qualification: To appear in this exam, candidates have to pass with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

M) Combined Geo-Scientist Exam

Union Public Service Commission conducts Combined Geo-Scientist Exam for the recruitment and selection to the post of Scientist ‘B’ in Hydrogeology, Chemical and Geophysics. The selected candidates will be appointed to the Geological Survey of India under the Ministry of Mines and in the Central Ground Water Board under the Ministry of Water Resources.

Besides, two new Services have been added in this Examination viz. Scientist-B (Geophysics), Group A and Scientist-B (Chemical), Group A and the post of Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) has been renamed Scientist-B (Hydrogeology).

Educational Qualification: The candidates must be Post Graduate in the relevant field.

N) RRB Junior Engineer Exam

Railway Recruitment Board conducts RRB Junior Engineer Exam for recruiting Junior Engineers, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical and Metallurgy Assistant (CMA) to various departments of the railway. Junior Engineers works as Supervisor in the Civil Engineering department of railways. Also known as the inspector of works, a JE is charged for constructing and maintaining railway buildings such as water supply to the buildings, staff quarters and encroachment of Railway land, etc.

Educational Qualification: To apply for this exam, candidates must have a Degree/Diploma in the relevant discipline.

O) Indian Navy Entrance Test

The Indian Navy Entrance Test is a National Level exam conducted twice a year, offering youngsters the post of Officers in Sub Lieutenant. The selected candidate is offered Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) and undergo training at the Indian Naval Academy.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess B.E./B.Tech Degree with a minimum of 60% marks or M.Sc with 60% marks.
