IBPS Recruitment 2019: 8401 Vacancies Include Officers and Assistant for RRBs.

In a recently Job notification Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced the recruitment of Banking Personnel for the Regional Rural Banks across India through Common Recruitment Process (CRP). The recruitment would be for Group A- Officers (Scale-I, II and III) and Group B- Office Assistant (Multipurpose).

Vacancy Details

In their massive recruitment drive, the banks would be recruiting a total of 8401 nos. of officials for the purpose. Here is the segregation of the vacant positions given below:

  1. Officer Scale-I: 3382
  2. Officer Scale-II (Agriculture Officer): 106
  3. Officer Scale-II (Marketing Officer): 45
  4. Officer Scale-II (Treasury Manager): 11
  5. Officer Scale-II (Law): 19
  6. Officer Scale-II (CA): 24
  7. Officer Scale-II (IT): 76
  8. Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer): 893
  9. Officer Scale-III: 157
  10. Office Assistants (Multipurpose): 3688

Eligibility Criteria

The educational qualification and the experience required for the posts are given below:

  1. Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager): i) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy; ii) Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s* iii) Desirable: working knowledge of Computer.
    No experience required. Freshers may apply.
  1. Officer Scale-II (General Banking): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
    Minimum experience of two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
  1. Officer Scale-II (IT): Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or it’s equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.
    Minimum of one year of experience in the relevant field.
  1. Officer Scale-II (CA): Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
    Minimum experience of one year as Chartered Accountant.
  1. Officer Scale-II (Law): Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
    Experience of two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period of not less than two years.
  1. Officer Scale-II (Treasury Manager): Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution.
    Minimum of one year of experience in the relevant field.
  1. Officer Scale-II (Marketing): MBA in Marketing from a recognized university.
    Minimum of one year of experience in the relevant field.
  1. Officer Scale-II (Agriculture): Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
    Minimum of two years of experience in the relevant field.
  1. Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
    Minimum 5 years of experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions.
  1. Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent (a) Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s* (b) Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer.
    No experience required. Freshers may apply.

Age Limit (As on 01/06/2019):

  • For Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager): Above 21 years – Below 40 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1979 and later than 31.05.1998 (both dates inclusive).
  • For Officer Scale-II (Manager): Above 21 years – Below 32 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1987 and later than 31.05.1998 (both dates inclusive).
  • For Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager): Above 18 years – Below 30 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1989 and later than 31.05.2001 (both dates inclusive).
  • For Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.06.1991 and later than 01.06.2001 (both dates inclusive).

Selection Process

For the post of Officer Scale-I and Office Assistant (Multipurpose), there will be two sets of online examination— Preliminary Examination (Objective type) and Main Examination (Objective type). The Candidates have to qualify the Preliminary Examination by securing minimum cut-off marks to appear in the Main Examination. While for the Posts of Officer Scale-II and III, there will be Single Level Examination.

For the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – marks obtained only in the main examination will be considered for final merit listing.

For the post of Officers Scale I – marks obtained only in the main examination will be considered for shortlisting for interview and final merit listing.

For the post of Officers Scale II (Generalist and Specialist) and Scale III – marks obtained in the single level examination will be considered for shortlisting for interview and final merit listing.

On completion of the interview process / main examination, depending on the vacancies to be filled in as per the business needs of the RRBs and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the RRBs, based on merit-cum-preference keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy.

Application Process

A candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer. However, a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III. Candidates have to apply separately and pay application fees separately for each post.

Candidates can apply online only from 18.06.2019 to 04.07.2019.

The application fees for the mentioned posts are fixed at Rs. 600 for the General, OBC and EWS category candidates, while it’s Rs. 100 for others. All the application fees are to be paid online.
