Uttarakhand Civil Services Exam is popularly known as Uttarakhand Administrative Services Exam is conducted by Uttarakhand Public Service Commission to recruit qualified candidates for various position in the civil services of the State.

UKPSC PCS Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. The candidate must be a citizen of India.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. The candidate must have a Bachelor Degree from a recognised university.

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the UKPSC PCS examination should be minimum of 21 years and maximum of 42 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

  7. Restrictions on Attempts
  8. There is no attempt restriction for the candidates provided the upper age limit has not been exceeded.

UKPSC PCS Exam Pattern 2021

The exam consists of three stages:
Stage I: Preliminary exam consists of two papers of objective type.
Stage II: The main exam consists of 7 paper of the descriptive type.
Stage III: This stage consists of a Personality test or interview.

  • Indian Polity: National, International, Constitution of India, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Issues Concerning Rights, Political System of Uttarakhand.
  • Economic and Social Development: Economic policy, Foreign Direct Investment, Census and main features of India, main features of the union budget, World Trade Organisation, International flow of capital, World Human Development Index, Glossary, economy and budgets of Uttarakhand, Schemes and Projects, Tax and economic reforms.

2 Prelims Paper II: General Aptitude Test

  • Logical and Analytical ability: Statements-arguments, statement-assumptions, statement- courses of action, statement- conclusions.
  • General Mental Ability: Direction sense test, social intelligence, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, puzzle test, coding-decoding.
  • Numerical Identification: Number and their classification, test of divisibility of number, general properties of divisibility, test of prime number.

In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only a candidate’s intellectual qualities but also social traits and interest in current affairs. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, the ability for social cohesion, LEADERSHIP, and intellectual and moral integrity.
