The Staff Selection Commission will conduct an open examination for recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles as per the Recruitment Scheme formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ministry of Home Affairs and the Staff Selection Commission.

The recruitment process will consist of Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Examination.

SSC General Duty Constable Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. The candidate must be a citizen of India. Vacancies are state/ UT wise hence a candidate must submit domicile/ PRC against his/ her state/ UT.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/ University.

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the SSC General Duty Constable Exam should be minimum of 18 years and maximum of 23 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

  7. Restrictions on Attempts
  8. There is no restriction on the number of attempts specified by the exam conducting board as long as the candidate fulfils the eligibility criteria.

SSC General Duty Constable Exam Pattern 2021

Here are the important points regarding the exam:

  • The SSC GD Constable examination – is conducted in three stages, the computer-based written exam, PET and PST and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
  • The CBT paper is divided into four sections and is conducted in online mode with objective type questions.
  • Based on how individuals perform in the Computer Based Test (CBT), candidates are shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Physical Standard Test (PST).
  • Based on the candidates’ height parameters, he/she needs to undergo PET race followed by biometric / technology aided identification test.
  • In PST candidate is evaluated on three basic physical standards – height, chest, weight.
  • The Medical Board does individuals that clear the PET and PST are shortlisted for detailed medical examination to be medical examination constituted by the CAPFs to assess the candidate’s physical and medical fitness.

Pattern for SSC GD Constable (CBT)

The paper is divided into four sections and each section has equal number of questions and marks. A composite time of 90 minutes is given for the CBT exam.
