The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC CPO examination every year to recruit candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police/ BSF/ CRPF/ SSB/ ITBP/CISF department in the Central Police Organization (CPO). Departmental candidates among Constable, Head Constables and Assistant Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police with a minimum of three years in service can also apply for the exam.

SSC CPO Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. a) a citizen of India, or
    b) a subject of Nepal, or
    c) a subject of Bhutan, or
    d) Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b) and (c) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
    e) A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Govt. of India

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the SSC CPO Exam should be minimum of 20 years and maximum of 25 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

    Departmental candidates (OBC) 33 years
    Departmental candidates (SC/ST) 35 years

  7. Restrictions on Attempts
  8. No well-defined number of attempts has been stated by the recruiting body as long as the candidate fits into the age criteria stated by the recruiting body.

Pattern for Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Those candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards as specified in the 11.9 point to these Rules will be put through the physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET) as mentioned in the Exam notification.

Syllabus for Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET)

The Test comprises of 100 Meters race, 1.6 Kilo Meters race, Long Jump, High Jump and Shot Put. 

These Tests will be only of qualifying nature and will not carry any marks. Failure even in one of these tests will amount to disqualification.
