These include Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways.

RRB NTPC Examination Eligibity Criteria 2020

  1. Nationality
  2. (a) a citizen of India, or
    (b) a subject of Nepal, or
    (c) a subject of Bhutan, or
    (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
    (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
    Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. Candidates applying for RRB NTPC Exam is required to fulfill the following criteria:

    • Commercial Apprentice: Degree from recognized university or equivalent
    • Station Master: Graduate from recognised university or equivalent
    • Goods Guard: Degree from recognized university or equivalent
    • Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist: Degree from recognized university or equivalent. Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on the computer is essential.
    • Senior Clerk Cum Typist: Degree from recognized university or equivalent. Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on the computer is essential.
    • Senior Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk: Degree from recognized university or equivalent
    • Senior Time Keeper: Degree from recognized university or equivalent. Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on the computer is essential.
    • Traffic Assistant: Degree from recognized university or equivalent
    • Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk: 12th (+2 Stage) or it’s equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks are not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST / Persons with Benchmark Disability / Ex-servicemen and candidates who possess qualification higher than 12th (+2 stage)
    • Accounts Clerk Cum Typist: 12th (+2 Stage) or it’s equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks are not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST / Persons with Benchmark Disability / Ex-servicemen and candidates who possess qualifications higher than 12th (+2 stage). Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on the computer is essential.

Typing proficiency in English / Hindi on the computer is essential.

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the RRB NTPC examination should be minimum of 18 years and maximum of 30 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table.

    Candidates ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989. (OBC-NCL) 38 years
    Candidates ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989. (SC/ST) 40 years
    Candidates who are serving Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' Railway Staff, Casual Labour and Substitutes and put in minimum 3 years of service (continuous or in broken spells) (UR) 40 years
    Candidates who are serving Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' Railway Staff, Casual Labour and Substitutes and put in minimum 3 years of service (continuous or in broken spells) (OBC-NCL) 43 years

  7. Restrictions on Attempts
  8. There is no attempt restriction for the candidates provided the upper age limit has not been exceeded.

RRB NTPC Examination Pattern 2020

RRB NTPC Exam comprises of two stages of tests i.e 1st stage Computer Based Test or Level I and 2nd Stage Computer Based Test or Level II Exam followed by Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Typing Skill Test and Document Verification/ Medical Examination.

Pattern for 1st stage CBT

RRB NTPC 1st stage CBT or Level I exam comprises of 3 sections i.e. Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness comprising of a total of 100 questions of 1 mark each. Candidates will have a composite time of 90 minutes to solve all the sections.

RRB NTPC 2nd stage CBT or Level II exam comprises of 3 sections i.e. Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness comprising of a total of 120 questions of 1 mark each. Candidates will have a composite time of 120 minutes to solve all the sections.
