Life Insurance Corporation of India conducts the LIC ADO exam to recruit an Apprentice Development Officer (ADO). LIC invites an online application for LIC Apprentice Development Officer (LIC ADO) every year. The exam creates an opportunity for individuals who want to make a career in the insurance sector.

LIC ADO is a national-level online exam conducted by LIC. A LIC Apprentice Development Officer given the responsibility of a Life Insurance Agent who will supervise their all-over performance.

LIC Apprentice Development Officer Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. Candidate should be an Indian Citizen.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a University in India established under a statute or approved for the purpose of the Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai.

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the LIC Apprentice Development Officer Exam should be minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

    LIC Employee who is a member of OBCs (other than those in the creamy layer) 45 years

    LIC Agent or Other than Agent (such as DSE/FSE) who is not a member of SC or ST or OBCs 40 years
    LIC Agent or Other than Agent (such as DSE/FSE)who is a member of OBCs (Other than those in the creamy layer) 43 years
    LIC Agent or Other than Agent (such as DSE/FSE) who is a member of a SC or a ST 45 years
    Ex- Serviceman (General) 42 years
    Ex- Serviceman (OBC) 45 years
    Ex- Serviceman (SC/ST) 47 years

  7. Restrictions on Attempts
  8. There is no restriction on number of attempts until the candidate fulfils all the eligible criteria.

LIC Apprentice Development Officer Exam Pattern 2021

Important points regarding the pattern of the exam:

  • This exam is conducted for three categories- General, Agents, and Employee category.
  • There is a single phase exam for agents and employee categories.
  • Pattern and syllabus of agents and employee categories are different.
  • And for the general category, there are two phases- phase I and Phase II.
  • Phase I is qualifying in nature, whereas Phase II marks are considered for the final merit ranking.

Pattern for Phase I: Preliminary Exam (General)

The Preliminary Examination consisting of an objective test will be conducted online. English Language Test will be of qualifying nature and the marks in the English Language will not be counted for ranking.
