Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) is the highest-ranked insurance regulatory body of India. The primary role and responsibility of IRDA are to govern the public and private insurance companies around the country. The rules and regulations set by the IRDA are mandatory for all public and private insurance companies to ensure fair practices. IRDA attracts citizens and preaches the importance of holding a policy. It safeguards the interests of the policyholders and ensures fair dealings.

IRDA holds a recruitment drive through the Insurance institutes of India for the IRDA exam. It is an all-India level exam that recruits eligible candidates for dignified posts in IRDA. This exam is not annual recruitment and it is done based on the requirement of the company.

IRDAI Assistant Manager Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. Candidates must be a citizen of India.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. Candidates applying must have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum 60% marks from a recognised university.

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the IRDAI Assistant Manager Exam should be minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

  7. Restrictions on Attempts
  8. There is no limit on the number of attempts until the candidate fulfil all the required eligibility criteria.

IRDAI Assistant Manager Exam Pattern 2021

Important points regarding the pattern of the examination:

  • The IRDA Assistant manager recruitment exam is conducted in three phases.
  • The three phases are Phase I (Preliminary), Phase II (Mains) and Phase III (Interview).
  • The exams are held online and in two languages: English and Hindi.
  • The exams consist of objective type questions from the area of general awareness, quantitative and qualitative aptitude.
  • The exam also covers questions from professional knowledge in the Insurance and finance subjects.

Pattern for Preliminary Exam

There is a composite time of 90 minutes for phase I.

Pattern for Interview

Phase-III of the exam includes the interview process/personality test. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview round based on total marks obtained in the three sections of Phase-I. The final selection of candidates will be on the basis of performance in Phase-II and interview round.

Syllabus for Interview

There is no specific syllabus for interview. In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only a candidate’s intellectual qualities but also social traits and interest in current affairs. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, the ability for social cohesion, LEADERSHIP, and intellectual and moral integrity.
