Indian Bank invites application from young and bright graduates who fulfill the eligibility criteria specified and who are interested in Banking career, for admission to the one year Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF) course at Indian Bank Manipal School of Banking (IBMSB), which has been set up jointly by Indian Bank and Manipal Global Education Service Pvt Ltd.

Candidates will be selected through a selection process consisting of online Exam (Preliminary & Main Examination) followed by Personal Interview. Admission to PGDBF at Indian Bank Manipal School of Banking (IBMSB) comes with the assurance of a full-fledged Banking career with Indian Bank as a Probationary Officer on successful completion of the course.

Indian Bank PO Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. A candidate must be either
    i) a Citizen of India or
    ii) a subject of Nepal or
    iii) a subject of Bhutan or
    iv) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

    Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii) & (iv) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University (or) any Equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the Indian Bank PO Exam should be minimum of 20 years and maximum of 30 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

  7. Restrictions on Attempts
  8. There is no such restriction on the number of attempts as long as the age criteria is being fulfilled.

Indian Bank PO Exam Pattern 2021

Important points regarding the pattern of the exam:

  • There are two levels of examinations: Preliminary Exam and Mains exam. The Indian Bank PO Exam is conducted online as it is a computer-based exam and comprises of multiple-choice questions.
  • All the questions are in both Hindi and English Language except for the English test.
  • Each of the candidates appearing for the exam is required to clear the sectional cut-off and the overall cut-off for both the preliminary and the mains examination.
  • The Preliminary Exam comprises of three subjects, including English language, reasoning ability, and numerical ability.
  • The Mains Exam comprises of four subjects including General Awareness, Economy and Banking Awareness, English Language, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, and Data Analysis and Interpretation.
  • There is also a Descriptive Test for the English Language.

Syllabus for Interview

There is no specific syllabus for interview. In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only a candidate’s intellectual qualities but also social traits and interest in current affairs. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, the ability for social cohesion, LEADERSHIP, and intellectual and moral integrity.
