Indian Post Payment Bank was set up recently under the department of Post of Government of India. It is a government-owned organization. India Post Payment Bank – IPPB conducts the recruitment for the post of Assistant Manager (Officer Scale 1) across various IPPB Branches throughout the country.

Indian Post Payment Bank is devoted to public service and is proportionally growing in the Indian banking sector. Indian Post Payment Bank has around 1,55 lakh post offices operating parallel for the public of urban and rural India. It is growing to be one of the most trusted banks of India. The rural India projects of the government is essentially operated under Indian Post Payment Banks. To strengthen the workforce, every year IPPB releases vacancies for its posts. India Post Payments Bank Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. A candidate must be either
    i. a citizen of India or
    ii. a subject of Nepal or
    iii. a subject of Bhutan or
    iv. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
    v. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

    Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

  3. Educational Qualification
    • Chief Technology Officer- B.Tech or equivalent from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks
    • Scale I Officers- Graduates with 60% marks from University recognized by goverment of India. Candidates with minimum education qualification and with postal services or sales of financial products/ rural banking/ with experience as Business Correspondent for banks are also eligible.
    • Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director- Candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university/ MBA degree/ CAIIB certificate(Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers)
    • Scale II-III Officers- Candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university. Candidate having an MBA/ B.Tech can also apply
    • Corporate Roles- Minimum work of experience in operation/ finance/ banking/ marketing
    • Scale IV-VI Officers- Candidate must be a graduate from a recognised university within minimum work experience.

  4. Age Limit
  5. The age of the candidate to appear in the India Post Payments Bank Exam should be minimum of 20 years and maximum of 30 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

  7. There is no limit on the number of attempts until the candidate fulfil all the required eligibility criteria

India Post Payments Bank Exam Pattern 2021

Important points regarding the pattern of the exam:

  • The IPPB recruitment exam is conducted in three phases.
  • The three phases are Phase I (Preliminary), Phase II (Mains), and Phase III (Personal Interview).
  • An applicant must successfully pass all three phases to book a vacancy in the assistant managers’ desk in various IPPB offices.
  • The exams are held online and in two languages: English and Hindi.
  • The exams consist of objective-type questions from the area of general awareness, quantitative and qualitative aptitude.
  • The exam also covers questions from professional knowledge in banking and finance subjects.
  • IPPB might also conduct assessments in the form of online exams and group discussions in addition to the interview round.

Pattern for Preliminary Exam

A composite time of 60 minutes is given for the Preliminary exam.

Syllabus for Interview

There is no specific syllabus for interview. In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only a candidate’s intellectual qualities but also social traits and interest in current affairs. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, the ability for social cohesion, LEADERSHIP, and intellectual and moral integrity.
