Food Corporation of India (FCI) is one of the highest public sectors undertaking to ensure the food security of the nation. It was established in the year 1965. The first district office of FCI was at Thanjavur. FCI is considered as the organization of the central government of India for the chain supply of food grains for the country.

Every year Food Corporation of India (FCI) recruits candidates in its Depots and Offices that are spread all over the Country. The recruitment is for various posts like JE, Manager, Assistant Grade-II (AG II) (Hindi), Steno Grade-II, Typist (Hindi) and Assistant Grade – III (AG III) (General/ Accounts/ Technical/ Depot) and many more.

FCI Junior Engineering Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. For the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
    For other services, a candidate must be either:—
    (a) a citizen of India, or
    (b) a subject of Nepal, or
    (c) a subject of Bhutan, or
    (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
    (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
    Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

    02. J.E. (Electrical Engineering) Degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with one year experience in the case of Diploma holders only.
    03. J.E. (Mechanical Engineering) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with one year experience in the case of Diploma holders.

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the FCI Junior Engineering Exam should be minimum of 18 years and maximum of 28 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

  7. Restrictions on Attempts
  8. There is no restriction on the number of attempts in the FCI JE Exam until the Candidate fulfil all the required eligibility criteria.

FCI Junior Engineering Exam Pattern 2021

Important points regarding the pattern of the exam:

  • FCI Junior Engineer Selection Process comprises an online exam which is divided into two phases. Phase-I is a qualifying exam. The final merit list will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the phase 2 exam.
  • Phase 1 Exam is common for all candidates, irrespective of the profile that they are applying for. Phase 2 Exam will be different for different candidates according to the profile that they are applying for.
  • Phase 1 Exam will consist of only one paper whereas, Phase 2 Exam, for the post of Junior Engineer, will consist of 2 papers, i.e. Paper I and Paper-II.
  • Both phases of the Online Exam will be held on different days, one after the other, respectively. Candidates will be eligible to appear for the Phase 2 exam only if they qualify the Phase 1 exam.
  • Both paper I and Paper II for Phase 2 exam will be held in one sitting (i.e. on the same day).
