FCI Assistant Exam is conducted by the Food Corporation of India to appoint eligible candidates at the post of Assistant in various departments of the FCI. The role of the FCI Assistant is to perform the designated roles and responsibilities of his particular department such as managing depots, transportation and stock, finance and account along the production. They perform these roles for the department to which they are recruited.

The eligibility criteria for different departments are different. Hence, it becomes essential for the candidate to check his particular eligibility criteria. The selection process comprises three different stages including online examination, interview and training. The online examination is further divided into two phases i.e., Phase I and Phase II.

There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer given by the candidate in the Phase I exam. There is no penalty for a wrong answer in Phase II. Those who qualify for the exams are commenced for the interview round for further selection.

FCI Assistant Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
    • Citizens of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the objective of permanently settling in India
    • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

  2. Educational Qualification
    • FCI Assistant (General)- Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with proficiency in use of computers
    • FCI Assistant (Accounts)- Bachelor of Commerce from a recognized University with proficiency in use of computers
    • FCI Assistant (Technical)- B.Sc in Agriculture from a recognized University or B.Sc/B.Tech Degree in Food Sciences from a recognised Indian University and proficiency in use of computers
    • FCI Assistant (Depot)- Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University with proficiency in use of Computers
    • FCI Assistant General (Hindi)- Degree of a recognized university with Hindi as the main subject
      • Proficiency in English
      • One year experience of translation from English to Hindi and vice versa

  3. Age Limit
  4. The age of the candidate to appear in the FCI Assistant Exam should be minimum of 18 years and maximum of 27 years.
    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

  5. Restrictions on Attempts
  6. There is no such restriction on the number of attempts as long as the age criteria is being fulfilled.

FCI Assistant Exam Pattern 2021

Important points regarding the pattern of the exam:

  • The FCI Assistant Exam is conducted in two stages i.e., Phase I and Phase II Exam.
  • The online Phase I exam is common for all the posts and comprises of objective multiple-choice questions.
  • Each question carries 1 mark and for every wrong answer there is a negative marking of 1/4 th of the marks assigned to that question.
  • Phase II comprises of two papers i.e., Paper I to Paper V where paper I is common for all the posts and Paper III is for FCI Assistant (Hindi)
