ESIC or Employees’ State Insurance Corporation was established in 1952 as a statutory body.Its administrative body is the Ministry Of Labour and Employment and governed by the rules and regulations stipulated in the ESI Act 1948.It was established to provide social security and health insurance to Indian workers.It has its headquarters in New Delhi,India.
The ESIC SSO examination is conducted by the Employees State Insurance Corporation to recruit candidates for the post of Social security officer. The ESIC is a statutory body, and the candidates will get an excellent opportunity to work for under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. This organization was established to provide social security and health insurance to Indian workers.
The candidates who will qualify for this examination will get posting in the ESIC headquarters in New Delhi. The ESIC SSO examination seems to be a good job opportunity for the graduates, as it will not only provide them with a handsome salary but also they will get to work in diverse profiles.

ESIC SSO Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021
- Nationality
- Educational Qualification
- Age Limit The age of the candidate to appear in the ESIC SSO examination should be minimum of 21 years and maximum of 27 years.
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the Ist January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A degree of a recognized University. Working knowledge of computer including use of office suites and database. Experience (Desirable): Three years’ service in a Government Organization or Corporation or Government Undertaking or Local Body or Scheduled Bank etc.
However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

There is no such restriction on the number of attempts as long as the age criteria is being fulfilled.

Pattern for Phase I – Preliminary Exam
ESIC UDC preliminary exam is a qualifying exam. The marks scored in this exam are not considered for preparation of the merit list.

This is phase 2 of the ESIC UDC exam. The mains exam marks are taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.
