Every year DRDO-CEPTAM conducts the exam for recruitment of eligible candidates of Technical, Administrative & Allied category non-gazetted personnel. The CEPTAM is a corporate body of DRDO established as the Personnel Assessment Centre (PEACE) to cater to the DRTC cadre (Technical Staff) of DRDO. DRDO offers exciting and challenging career opportunities for aspiring candidates to work on defence system, infrastructures and related activities in a broad spectrum of subjects and discipline.

The examination is conducted online, allowing both aspiring male and female candidates to fulfil their dreams. Training of candidates for the development of these candidates is based on the training policy set by the DRDO. Disciplines that are provided to the candidates are Book Binder, Carpenter, Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, Mechanical lab Technology, DTP Operator and more.

DRDO CEPTAM Tech ‘A’ Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. Only the candidates who have the citizenship of India are eligible for appearing in the exam.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. 1. Candidates must be a Class 10th pass or equivalent from a recognized board.
    2. Candidate must have a certificate from a recognized institution approved by NCVT/SCVT /UGC/ AICTE/ State/ Central Education Board in the following discipline.

  5. Age Limit
  6. The age of the candidate to appear in the DRDO CEPTAM Tech ‘A’ Exam should be minimum of 18 years and maximum of 28 years.
    *Note

    There is an upper age limit relaxation for candidates belonging to the following categories as per the rule prescribed by the Government of India.

    • SC/ST,
    • OBC,
    • PWD,
    • Widows or Divorced women or Women judicially separated from their husbands and not remarried,
    • Central Government Civilian Employees,
    • Disabled Defence Service Personnel,
    • A person that has been domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the time of 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989

  8. There are no restrictions on the number of attempts provided the upper age limit does not exceed.

DRDO CEPTAM Tech ‘A’ Exam Pattern 2021

Important points regarding the examination:

  • The exam for the recruitment of candidates for the post of Technician ‘A’ is conducted in Tier-I and Tier-II.
  • The tier-I examination is the provisional selection of candidates conducted in online mode. Tier II is qualifying in nature and will be based on the related trade’s ITI level to test the candidate’s practical skills.
  • For the Tier 1 examination, candidates are given a choice for choosing their top three preferences for exam location, and for Tier II candidates are not given any choice. CEPTAM decides it in accordance with the operational requirement.
  • The selection process is based on the marks scored by the candidate in Tier-I (CBT) and Tier-II (Trade Test).

Pattern for Tier-I Exam (CBT)

The DRDO Technician Preliminary exam consists of an objective test which will be conducted online. This test is bilingual (available in both English and Hindi) except for the English section. There Prelims exam for DRDO CEPTAM Recruitment consists of the following sections.

Pattern for Tier-II (Trade Test)

Candidates who qualified Tier-I Examination are eligible to appear for Tier-II. This exam is qualifying in nature, conducted to test the candidate’s Practical Skills on ITI level in the related trade. The duration of the examination will be anywhere from 60-120 mins.

There is no such syllabus mentioned for this examination but the candidates appearing in this examination may come prepared with the practical skills that they have previously learnt during their ITI certification course. Examiners may also ask questions regarding the practical skills acquired by the candidates.
