The Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board National Eligibility Test, in short, ASRB NET also known as ICAR NET is conducted to select eligible candidates for the post of Lecturer or Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural University (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities. ASRB NET is organized at the national level.

Compared to other NETs, the ASRB NET exam pattern is relatively simple. This exam basically filters candidates on the basis of understanding of their chosen disciplines and their knowledge. They get a chance to apply for the vacancies released by different state agricultural universities or other universities on the basis of their performance in the written exam.

ASRB NET has provided different syllabus for each available discipline. The papers shall be of the master’s degree level. Question papers are made available in bilingual or in two languages- English and Hindi. If any discrepancy is found in any paper, English medium paper will be given leverage.

ASRB NET Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. Candidates need to possess the following citizenship

    • Indian Nationality
    • Nepal Nationality
    • Bhutan Citizenship
    • Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 01 January 1962, for the permanent settlement in India.
    • A person with Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma and East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi and Vietnam for the permanent settlement in India.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. The Educational Qualification Required are:

    • Candidates should possess the master degree or equivalent with specialization in the respective course.
    • Candidates must complete their degree on or before the last of the online application form.
    • Candidates also possess the qualification from foreign University recognized as equivalent to the Government of India (GOI).
    • Qualifying degree of the candidates should be from any Indian university incorporated by an act of central or state legislation of India or other educational institute established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed University under the section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

  5. Age Limit
    • The minimum age of the candidate to appear in the ASRB NET exam should be 21 years.
    • There is no upper age limit.

  6. Restrictions on Attempts
  7. There is no restriction on the number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test.

ASRB NET Exam Pattern 2021

ASRB NET is a qualifying exam in nature. The exam is conducted in the mode of online. If we look through the ASRB NET pattern of the exam, it is quite clear that candidates have to answer a total number of 150 questions within 120 minutes or 2 hours, all the question in the papers carries one mark each. 1/3 mark shall be deducted in the exam for each incorrect answer and it is a negative marking system in the exam.

Pattern for ASRB NET (CBT)

ASRB NET (CBT) is an online computer-based test. The Question type of exam is objective type.
