Andhra Pradesh Group 1 Service Exam is conducted by Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission to recruit qualified candidates in various administrative positions.

AP Group 1 Exam Eligibity Criteria 2021

  1. Nationality
  2. The candidate must be a citizen of India.

  3. Educational Qualification
  4. The candidate must have a Bachelor Degree from a recognised University.

  5. Age Limit
    • Assistant Prohibition and Excise Superintendent in A.P. Excise Service: 18–26 years
    • District Fire Officers in A.P. Fire Service: 21–26 years
    • Deputy Superintendent of Jails (Men) in A.P. Jail Service: 18-28 years
    • Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil) Cat-2 in A.P. Police Service: 21–28 years
    • For all other posts: 18-42 years

    However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. They are given below in the table:

AP Group 1 Exam Pattern 2021

Andhra Pradesh Group -1 Services Exam consists of three stages:
Stage I: Preliminary examination consists of two papers of objective type carrying 120 marks for each paper.
Stage II: After that, the main examination consists of 7 papers of conventional essay type.
Stage III: This stage consists of a Personality Test (Interview).

  • Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations: Indian Constitution, Functions and Responsibilities of the Union and the States, Constitutional Authorities, Impact of Liberalization, Rights Issues, India’s Foreign Policy.
  • Indian and Andhra Pradesh Economy and Planning: Basic characteristics of Indian Economy, National Income, Indian Agriculture, Financial Institutions, the characteristics/ basic features of Andhra Pradesh economy.
  • Geography: General Geography, Physical, Social, Economic.

2 Prelims Paper II: General Aptitude

  • General Mental and Psychological Abilities:  Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability, Number Series, Coding —Decoding, Problems Related to Relations, Shapes and their Sub-sections, Venn Diagram, Problems based on Clocks, Calendar and Age, Number system and order of Magnitude etc.

Syllabus for Personality Test

In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only a candidate’s intellectual qualities but also social traits and interest in current affairs. Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, the ability for social cohesion, LEADERSHIP, and intellectual and moral integrity.
