Conducting online classes require great synergy, coordination, and cooperation amongst students and faculty. Whenever there is an issue or roadblock, it is should be addressed by the faculty. Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman of Noida International University and Secretary of Maruti Education Trust tells more about how his University is ensuring Right to Education for every child.
What online courses did your university introduce during this lockdown?
Having seen an increasing demand for professionals in the medical industry, Noida International University has introduced a number of Paramedical courses both diploma and degree courses like diploma in medical lab technician, diploma in critical care, and more. We also have an in house hospital where the students can get practical knowledge along with theoretical knowledge.
With the NEP, understudies would now be able to remain here in India, take confirmations in our universities and experience the sort of instruction and learning for which they used to travel abroad.
How did Noida International University help its students in switching over to digital classes?
It wasn’t a must of a task for the students to sit in front of their laptops and phones to attend classes because this generation is always using gadgets. But I can not deny that studying online was difficult for them because the kind of interaction there is in a classroom was missing. We have encouraged the faculty enough and making sure that the online classes are as interactive as the one in a classroom.
How did your university ensure that people from marginal backgrounds are able to achieve online education?
There is great synergy, coordination, and cooperation amongst our students and faculty. Whenever there is an issue or roadblock, it is promptly addressed by our faculty and our class coordinators. It is ensured that whatever be the child’s background, the child does not suffer because of the same and examinations shall and will take place seamlessly without any obstacles and hurdles. And it’s a proud privilege to place our record that the examinations went on seamlessly without any hiccups.
What do you think of NEP 2020?
I for one feel that the new education policy is an extraordinary choice by the bureau. Consistently we see a lot of students heading out to different countries to seek after their graduation and post-graduation which has gone to a halt due to the pandemic. With the NEP, understudies would now be able to remain here in India, take confirmations in our universities and experience the sort of instruction and learning for which they used to travel abroad.
This is an extraordinary method to draw in possible understudies to our colleges. Sure this will set aside an effort to execute however it’s unquestionably not feasible.
What are your future plans?
Our future plans would include to own and perfect and make the online education and examination perfect into an art. Whatever minor problems we encountered in the past six months, need to be addressed and smoothen out so that this goes on without any difficulty. The students have the luxury of hand-holding experience.
The problems are addressed and examinations are foolproof so that every student has a comfort level and we have no cost of concern whatsoever. In any case, we are reported to be not only the pioneers in NCR but Delhi as well as far as online education and examinations tutorials are concerned. But yes, we also are the role models in online platforms.
